| Summary: | Este trabajo analiza los envíos de tipos móviles de imprenta remitidos desde Europa a los territorios de la Corona española a través de la Carrera de Indias. Los jesuítas participaron del tráfico de materiales de imprenta. En tres envíos realizados por los jesuítas se han podido detectar materiales de imprenta destinados a México y Lima. En este tráfico de material de imprenta jugaron un papel clave los jesuítas de México y Perú. Se han localizado en total nueve envíos de materiales de imprenta en los navios que viajaron en el siglo XVII. En tres casos los envíos fueron protagonizados por jesuítas. This paper analyses shipments of movable type sent from Europe to the territories of the Spanish Crown through the Carrera de Indias in the seventeenth century. It outlines how the Jesuits participated in the transportation of printing materials. It shows, further, that some shipments made by the Jesuits included the presence of printing materials destined for Mexico and Lima. As a consequence, it is possible to establish that in this movement of printing materials, the Jesuits of Mexico and Peru played a key role: out of a total of nine shipments of printing materials identified in the seventeenth century, in three cases, the shipments were carried out by Jesuits. |
