Partiendo de la constatación de que la categoría "estados de vida" es un concepto socio-jurídico, problemático para la propia reflexión canónica, se revisan las objeciones que la teología plantea a la bipartición/tripartición del pueblo de Dios, formulando un nuevo vocabulario para definir la condición de cada cristiano. La alianza entre Dios y su pueblo se reconoce como el origen revelado de la esponsalidad y la virginidad, propias de todo bautizado y expresadas existencialmente, de modos diversos, en el matrimonio y el celibato. La relación entre María y José, símbolo históricamente cumplido, único e irrepetible de estas dos vocaciones paradigmáticas, incluso para los no bautizados, es el lugar donde el cumplimiento de la alianza se hace carne, significando y relativizando el matrimonio y el celibato con el reino de los cielos. | ||
| 520 | |a This study is intended to offer some reflections to those who would gain a deeper undestanding of the mystery of the specific vocation or condition that some members of the faithful live in the Church. Taking as its point of departure the realization that the category of "states of life" is a socio-juridical concept, which is problematic even for the discourse of canon law itself, this study reviews the objections that theologians raise in reference to the bipartition/tripartition of the People of God, formulating a new vocabulary for defining the condition of every Christian. The covenant between God and His People is acknowledged as the revealed origin of both the spousal quality and the virginity that are proper to every baptized person as they are expressed existentially in a different manner in marriage and in the celibate life, respectively. The relationship between Mary and Joseph, the historically perfected sign, unique and unrepeatable, of these two paradigmatic vocations, also for the unbaptized, is the place where the fulfilment of the covenant becomes flesh, signifying and relativizing marriage and celibacy for the Kingdom of Heaven. | ||
