Summary: | Arguing that the Christian faith knows two ways of encountering God, this essay contends that the revelation of the Father must be distinguished from the revelation of the Son. The Son is encountered where people unite through a free act, with the concept of the sacrament standing for such a repetition of the Jesus event. To justify its extension to the actions of human beings, reference to the Catholic concept of the Church as a sacrament is used and combined with reflections on the doctrine of the Trinity. |
