Des biblistes se sont emparés du modèle en vue de l’appliquer, avec plus ou moins de souplesse, aux écrits de l’Ancien Testament et, plus encore, du Nouveau Testament. Il suscite également un intérêt dans le champ de la missiologie en tant qu’outil pour le ministère des shame cultures. | ||
| 520 | |a Since the second half of the twentieth century, the notion of honour has aroused considerable interest among anthropologists and sociologists, most of them American. These scholars have developed a model according to which the ideology of honour, seen in tension with humiliation, constitutes, along with representations and politics linked to gender and the endogamous matrimonial alliance, one of the major characteristics of Mediterranean societies, societies based on ties of kinship and not on economics. Biblical scholars have seized on the model in order to apply it, with varying degrees of flexibility, to the writings of the Old Testament and, even more so, the New Testament. It has also attracted interest in the field of missiology as a tool for ministry in shame cultures. | ||
