Esther Shields, Seoul 1897-1900 - "The out-door dress of Seoul women, worn also by some others. Green silk and white muslin trimmings. The legend is that this is the warrior's cloak. The faithful wife has it always on hand, so that any moment that he may be called to war, she can quickly put it on him. Two strings each of scarlet and magenta fasten this in front, four strings at the same place."
