Item Description:Mount Saint Alban, Washington, D. C. Christmas at the High Altar. Single white poinsettia plants, whose roots in moist earth have been previously encased in plastic bags, are attached to tree-shaped forms made of wood and wire and covered with magnolia leaves. They flank a magnificent gold and ebony cross nearly six feet high. On the sanctuary steps are large red poinsettia plants grown in the Cathedral greenhouse. Worshipers and pilgrims are always welcome at the Cathedral
