Item Description:The First Methodist Church is located at the the corner of Eighth and North Tryon Streets, and ranks with the largest Methodist Churches in America. It has a Church auditorium seating 1560, one of the finest four-manual organs and a seat of tower chimes, and an educational building adequate for modern church school. It was erected in 1927 at an approximate cost of $800,000.00
