| Item Description: | A national religious shrine, this church founded by the Pilgrims in 1620 upon landing Plymouth, has unbroken records and ministry. It is the oldest Protestant Church in America, and is directly descended from the church gathered in Scrooby, England in 1606, as a creedless church estate. Its affiliation in Unitarian. The present building, standing at the head of Town Square, at the entrance to the Old Burial Grounds, was built by Americans of all faiths in 1897, and is patterned after the churches they knew in England and Holland |
