Description
Item Description:"Old Town" San Diego, Cal., showing Old Church and Bells, first Brick Building, and Ramona's Marriage Place. - "Old Town," San Diego, is perhaps the most hallowed and historical spot in all California. Here the cross was first planted in 1769, and here the first Mission was built. The chapel shown here is built of adobe but has been covered with boards to preserve it. The old Mission bells shown here were brought from Spain and are dated 1802. In the distance can be seen the old unfinished church and the Marriage place of Ramona
