Item Description:The Methodist Church was built in the old mining camp of Bodie, California, in the year of 1879, and during the Boom days of Bodie, always supported a resident pastor. The church was partially restored in 1928, but is again showing the ravages of time. Bodie became a thriving Gold Camp after the discovery of Gold by Wm. S. Bodey in 1859. The Bodie Bluff yielded ober $80,000,000.00 during the life of its mines
