Item Description:On t.p. of part 2: By a native of Germany and a professor of Christianity. - The essays in pt. 2 were occasioned by a review in the Quarterly review, London, July, 1828 (v. 38, no. 75, p. 114-145) of "Geschichte, lehren und meinungen der Juden, von Peter Beer, Leipzig, 1825" [i.e., 1822, 1824]. The first and third essays are by Isaac Leeser; the second and fourth by "a professor of Christianity."
