Summary: | The three oracles of Jer 7:31-32; 19:1-9 and 32:35 on human sacrifices have many similarities but also differences that make them interesting to study in synopsis. They raise the question of the existence of child sacrifices within the framework of Yahwist worship, and question the reader on the relevance of such practices allegedly ordered by the divinity itself. The solution adopted by the book of Jeremiah stands out from Ezekiel and from the priestly legislation on this question. |
