Description
Summary:The tradition of refection on the criteria for a so-called 'just war' and the peace ethics starting-point of a 'just peace' are not contradictory concepts. Both relate to the fact that situations may constantly arise in which we need to consider whether, in order to avoid greater violence. it may even be necessary to resort to force. Nonetheless the concept of 'just peace' emphasises the importance of the prevention of violence and conflict, and in the international arena also explores more intensively the weight of peace culture, peace education and virtues that promote peace, since there can also be argument and violent conflict over the contents of a just peace.
