Description
Summary:In his letter to the Master of the Dominican Order on the occasion of the 800th Dies Natalis of Saint Dominic, Pope Francis praised the School of Salamanca as being “perhaps the finest expression” of the “unity of truth and charity” that he adverted to as the founding inspiration and formative charism of the Order. This article investigates the experience of the School of Salamanca, how its core dynamic termed as the “Salamanca Process” embodies the charism of the Dominican Order, and the ongoing attempt to recover it as a model for the life and mission of Dominicans today as expressed in official documents of the Order, especially in recent General Chapters.
