Summary: | This work deals with a textual interpolation transmitted by only two early medieval manuscripts in the chapter that Isidore of Seville dedicates in his Prooemia to the Book of Job: Città del Vaticano, Bibliotheca Apostolica Vaticana Vat. Barberini 505 and Karlsruhe, Badische Landesbibliothek Cod. Augiensis Perg. 229. Based on the transcription of the text of both manuscripts and the identification of its source (a passage from the Moralia in Iob of Gregory the Great), it offers a reflection on the similarity between the exegetical procedures of Gregory and Isidore as an element that could have motivated the interpolation. |
