| Summary: | Although the lecture delivered by Pope Benedict XVI in the Aula Magna of the University of Regensburg on Tuesday 12 September 2006 may be remembered by many only as a disagreement with the Muslim world, it was in fact a challenge to deepen the dialogue between the two religions. In this article, we present the key aspects of the university conference and also, although less well known, the intellectual reactions to it. Without a doubt, we can affirm that the Regensburg Conference is a paradigm of interreligious dialogue as a common search for truth as Pope Benedict understood it. |
