La bús-queda de justicia y la lucha por defender los derechos de las poblaciones nativas, motivó debates pastorales en misiones y colegios jesuitas que, aunque no eran parte de una producción de Escuela, dieron lugar a un tipo de reflexión vinculada a la praxis, que ha caracterizado a la teología latinoameri-cana en la larga duración hasta tomar forma –siguiendo a Gustavo Gutiérrez -como acto segundo, en la Teología de la liberación. Esta suerte de pragmatismo inherente a la reflexión jesuita en el continente americano, proviene del cuestionamiento al escándalo de la violencia, que es lo primero que bus-caron erradicar. | ||
| 520 | |a Jesuit Missionaries' thought of the Six-teenth and Seventeenth Centuries, was influenced by the theological elaborations of the so-called Iberian School of Peace and interacted with their apostolic activities in the mission territories. In those spaces it went through an evolution, raising awareness of the marginalization, exploitation and abuse of the indigenous population. The search for justice and the consequent struggle to defend the rights of the native population fostered pastoral debates in Jesuit Missions and Colleges. Although they were not part of a Scholar production, gave rise to a type of intellectual reflection linked to their praxis. This feature has characterized Latin American theology in the long run until taking shape - following Gustavo Gutiérrez - as a Second Act in Liberation Theology. This kind of pragmatism inherent in Jesuit reflection on the American continent comes from questioning the scandal of violence, which is the first thing they sought to eradicate. | ||
