Description
Summary:In 1923, Formiggini Publishing House started printing the "Apologies of Religions". The Jewish editor Angelo Fortunato Formiggini was agnostic, but nevertheless believed that traditional religions, thanks to their moral values, could promote mutual respect and peaceful coexistence more than any other ideology of the time. Although there are many studies on Formiggini, none has been devoted specifically to the history of his "Apologies". The current work aims at filling this gap, while providing an overview of the volumes of the series, of its main authors, and of the national and international relevance of the topics covered. It also wishes to illustrate how many of the issues raised by the "Apologies" are of great importance for the European history of religions.
