Les manuscrits coptes sahidiques témoins d'un résidu " occidental " du texte de la péricope des Pèlerins d'Emmaüs?

The 'Road to Emmaus' pericope (Lk 24,12-35) has been transmitted in two textual forms, an earlier "Western" one based on the account of Jacob's dream in Gn 28,11-22, and a later, reworked, Alexandrian one, which is the text we have today. The transition from one to the other...

520 |a The 'Road to Emmaus' pericope (Lk 24,12-35) has been transmitted in two textual forms, an earlier "Western" one based on the account of Jacob's dream in Gn 28,11-22, and a later, reworked, Alexandrian one, which is the text we have today. The transition from one to the other during the 2nd century left subtle traces of the first form in the oldest versions such as Coptic. After a presentation of all Sahidic Coptic manuscripts attesting to the pericope, which will aim at updating those mentioned in Horner's and Quecke's editions, including their newly collated bilingual or non-bilingual lectionaries, this article suggests that Sahidic Coptic manuscripts do not reflect a pure Alexandrian text "contaminated" by "Western" readings, as generally asserted, but rather "Western" residues of an earlier textual form that evolved towards an Alexandrian form, and which reaches its full stage in the Bohairic version.
