This document served as preparatory material for a general meeting of the Congregation, in which Ingoli systematically responded to resolutions made by the Spanish Councils a few months earlier regarding the situation of the Japanese mission. Ingoli's considerations, shaped amidst the activities of the Dominican missionary Diego Collado in Rome and Madrid, represent one of the earliest jurisdictional conflicts between the Congregation, established in 1622, and the Spanish and Portuguese patronages. The study is complemented by an annotated Spanish translation of the document. | ||
