Sumario:For Pasolini the figure of Christ represents the mythical Archetype of him who dies in order to give meaning to his own life. In this sense, Christ becomes for Pasolini the Archetype of every human who lives struggling against the yoke of oppression by the powerful. Pasolin's Christ dies, rises, and ascends to heaven, not in order no reach the Kingdom of Heaven, but rather in order to stay on with humans as the Archetype, the moving force, until the end of time.
