Decentralization was part of the post-conciliar debates on subsidiarity and autonomy, which led to an outlining of the hallmarks of "sound decentralization." Synodality stands in relation to such decentralization; the term "institutional synodality" is a means of both understanding and implementing synodality in the life of the particular church. | ||
