L’analyse des tours révèle un même principe géométrique et montre que leur plan s’aligne sur les parements intérieurs des courtines, ce qui indique que ces lignes jouent un rôle clé dans la composition du plan des forts. On constate que les surfaces intra muros des forts sont en relation simple. On en déduit qu’il faut étudier séparément l’espace intérieur du fort et le tracé de son enceinte avant de rechercher ce qui les unit. Un carré de 150 pieds de 29,6 cm de côté, observé à Khan-Hallabat, révèle les dimensions des enceintes exprimées en unités romaines et constitue une référence utile à l’analyse des enceintes comme celle de Dmeyr. | ||

They were all equipped with fan-shaped corner towers. The towers’ analysis reveals a similar geometrical principle, their plan lined up on the curtain walls’ interior facing; this shows that these lines played a key role in the forts’ conception. The intra muros surfaces use simple relations. It thus appears that the interior surface of the fort should be studied separately from its surrounding wall, before looking for the links between both spaces. The square measuring 150 feet of 29.6 cm as seen at Khan-Hallabat reveals the dimensions of the fortification walls in Roman units, and gives a useful reference for the analysis of other forts like Dmeyr. | ||
