Various expressions of technology provide us with opportunities to consider how they are informed by and intertwined with religion, and by extension, they provide us with opportunities for theological reflection. This includes technology in popular culture that is often casually dismissed as little...

This includes technology in popular culture that is often casually dismissed as little more than entertainment. One of the scholars who has been exploring this intersection is Robert M. Geraci, professor of religious studies at Manhattan College. I first encountered Dr. Geraci's work in a paper titled Robots and the Sacred in Science and Science Fiction: Theological Implications of Artificial Intelligence, published in Zygon: Journal of Religion and Science 42, no. 4 (December 2007), and I have been following his work ever since. In what follows, we will interact with Geraci's work through descriptions of his books on the subject and interview responses to questions that interact with three of his books that set forth key components of his research and analysis.
