Primero se revisan varios problemas levantados por tal discusión en el contexto latinoamericano. Después se describe el desarrollo del pensamiento teológico de Pablo en cuanto al lugar que habrá tenido la muerte de Cristo en el proyecto de Dios para redimir a la humanidad, con base en el testimonio de 1 Tesalonicenses, 1 y 2 Corintios, Gálatas, y Romanos. Se nota que al comienzo de su ministerio apostólico, a Pablo no parece haberle interesado este tema, sin embargo, luego va reflexionando con mayor interés sobre este elemento de la vida de Cristo, quizá por su propia experiencia que se hacía cada vez más difícil. En conclusión, se pregunta por el sentido concreto que este aspecto del pensamiento paulino podría tener actualmente en América Latina. | ||

After rehearsing a number of the difficulties associated with such a discussion in the context of LatinAmerica, the development of Paul’s understanding of the place of Christ’ s death in the project of God to redeem humanity is traced through 1 Thessalonians, the Corinthian correspondence, Galatians and Romans. It is observed that at the beginning of his apostolic ministry, Paul appears to have had no real interest in this theme, but subsequently came increasingly to focus on this aspect of the life of Christ, perhaps as a response to Paul’s own increasingly difficult situation. Finally, questions about the ultimate meaning of this aspect of Paul’s thought in Latin America are raised in conclusion. | ||
