| Summary: | This paper seeks to establish the current situation in respect of Barth reception among evangelicals, focussing on Barth reception among evangelicals in Scotland. Describing my own theological pilgrimage, I noted that this reception involved a contrast between two Reformed "tribes", the one centred on Cornelius Van Til (against Barth) and the other on T.F. Torrance (for Barth). In the early period of Van Til's criticism of Barth, most evangelicals supported him. Today the state of affairs is very different, with Barth finding acceptance among perhaps a majority of evangelicals. I note that, for some evangelicals, critical differences remain on Scripture, on the nature of Reformed Theology, on election and on the atonement. Der vorliegende Aufsatz untersucht die gegenwärtige Situation bezüglich der Rezeption von Karl Barth unter Evangelikalen. Der Brennpunkt liegt bei Evangelikalen in Schottland. Von meinem eigenen theologischen Werdegang her merkte ich in dieser Rezeption einen Kontrast zwischen zwei reformierten "Stämme" geführt von Cornelius Van Til (kontra Barth) und T.F. Torrance (pro Barth). Van Tils früherer Kritik an Barth erhielt Unterstützung von der Mehrzahl der Evangelikalen. Heute ist die Situation ganz anders. Barth findet bei vielleicht der Mehrheit der Evangelikalen Zustimmung. Ich bemerke, dass für einige Evangelikalen kritische Unterschiede verbleiben bezüglich der Schrift, des Wesens Reformierter Theologie, der Gnadenwahl sowie Christi Sühnetod. Cet article cherche à établir la situation actuelle en ce qui concerne la réception de Barth parmi les évangéliques, en se concentrant sur sa réception parmi les évangéliques en Écosse. Décrivant mon propre pèlerinage théologique, j'ai relevé que cette réception révélait un contraste entre deux " tribus " réformées, l'une centrée sur Cornelius Van Til (contre Barth) et l'autre sur T.F. Torrance (pour Barth). Lorsque Van Til a commencé à critiquer Barth, la plupart des évangéliques l'ont soutenu. Aujourd'hui, la situation est très différente : Barth est maintenant accepté par peut-être une majorité d'évangéliques. Je note que, pour certains évangéliques, des divergences critiques subsistent sur l'Écriture, sur la nature de la théologie réformée, sur l'élection et sur l'expiation. |
