A return to the manuscripts, inspired by new philology as well as recent trends in the study of ancient epistolography, reduces the lacuna in book 1, corrects chronological and prosopographical data, and raises important questions concerning the contents, shape, narrative and transmission of Libanius' letter collection. | ||
