Description
Summary:According to MacIntyre Fides et ratio is only compatible with the Thomistic theory of truth and not with analytic philosophy, which cannot understand truth as a good either. Against both theses, we present a «non-deflationist», realist theory that (i) clarifies the linguistic uses of «truth/ true», (ii) expressly admits the value of truth, and (iii) analyzes in a new way the meaning of the substantive form «the truth». This reinforces the conceptions of man as a seeker of truth and truth as a good of human understanding. Finally, the «truth of man» is related to love, following - Lumen fidei.
