Summary: | Vos estis lux mundi introduced for clerics, members of institutes of consecrated life or societies of apostolic life who have news of the commission - by other clerics, members of Institutes of Consecrated Life or Societies of Apostolic Life - against a minor or a vulnerable person of a crime against the sixth commandment of the Decalogue, the juridical obligation to promptly report the incident to the competent ecclesiastical authority, with the indication of specific procedures to be followed when the active subjects of the conduct are the Bishops and the subjects indicated in art. 6 of the same legislative text. The juridical obligation to report arises even when there is news of the commission - by the Bishops or the subjects referred to in article 6 - of actions or omissions aimed at interfering or evading civil investigations or canonical, administrative or criminal investigations against a cleric or a religious regarding crimes against the sixth commandment of the Decalouge. This is part of a broad process of reform and declerica/ization of ecclesial structures and institutions so that the coherence between the institutional face of the Church and its missionary and ministerial identity may be increasingly evident. |
