| Resumo: | François de Sales does not just encourage his reader to put himself in the presence of God and to feel it. He provides a precious definition of it that gives pride of place to the eschatological and sacramental deployments of the great theme of justification, while honoring in an original way the notion of continuous creation in such a way that the both natural and supernatural action of divine mercy appears as the proper trinitarian work of the Father and of the Word Incarnate in the Spirit. Even if the theological tools used by the Bishop of Geneva are invariably dated, they allow him to elaborate a particularly dynamic doctrinal synthesis that goes beyond the strict framework of so-called spiritual theology. François de Sales ne se contente pas d'inciter son lecteur à se mettre en la présence de Dieu et à la sentir. Il en fournit une précieuse définition qui fait la part belle aux déploiements eschatologiques et sacramentels du grand thème de la justification tout en honorant de manière originale la notion de Création continuée de telle sorte que l'action à la fois naturelle et surnaturelle de la miséricorde divine apparaît comme l'œuvre proprement trinitaire du Père et du Verbe incarné dans l'Esprit. Même si les outils théologiques employés par l'évêque de Genève sont immanquablement datés, ils lui permettent d'élaborer une synthèse doctrinale particulièrement dynamique qui dépasse le cadre strict de la théologie dite spirituelle. |
