In this canzoniere, mythology rarely has a purely ornamental function, when constellations and sea creatures are used to spin the metaphor of amorous navigation. In a traditional way, thanks to it, are evoked the pleasures of love. But, on the one hand, Fortune is hostile; on the other hand, Cupid and the Loves are presented so as to mean the shipwreck of love in which the poet indulges. To denounce the harmful role of the small god of the love, which deserves a lawsuit, the pen of the poet, in a surprising way, comes to dip in the triviality. However, confused with the homonymous goddess, Diane Salviati is well celebrated. The mythology finds then all its vitality: the Lethe allows the oblivion and, wishing to die, the unhappy lover metamorphoses in various ancient figures. Aubigné thus revives the Ronsard of the Amours, but his darker lyricism is more sincere. | ||

Pourtant, près de la moitié des poèmes du Printemps, à des degrés divers, est marquée par la fable antique. Dans ce canzoniere, la mythologie a rarement une fonction purement ornementale, quand les constellations et les créatures marines servent à filer la métaphore de la navigation amoureuse. De façon traditionnelle, grâce à elle, sont évoqués, de façon traditionnelle, les plaisirs de l’amour. Mais, d’une part, la Fortune est hostile ; d’autre part, Cupidon et les Amours sont présentés de façon à signifier le naufrage amoureux dans lequel se complaît le poète. Pour dénoncer le rôle néfaste du petit dieu de l’amour, qui mérite un procès, la plume du poète, de manière surprenante, vient tremper dans la trivialité. Toutefois, confondue avec la déesse homonyme, Diane Salviati est bien célébrée. La mythologie retrouve alors toute sa vitalité : le Léthé permet l’oubli et, désirant mourir, l’amant malheureux se métamorphose en différentes figures antiques. Aubigné renoue ainsi avec le Ronsard des Amours, mais son lyrisme, plus sombre relève davantage de la sincérité. | ||
