Summary: | In our contribution we can grasp the essential features of the preacher's physiognomy and the content, method and means of preaching in the light of Chapter IX of Regula bullata. Preaching, reread through the experience and Writings of Saint Francis can be a resource and at the same time a challenge for the contemporary apostolate. It can be a richness on a spiritual level but could prompt further reflection and challenge to improve contemporary pastoral practice. Can preaching be a means to realize the encounter of the Word as a sacred and vital space with people today? Our answer is affirmative. Man's encounter with the Word heard, received and actualized, urges the living of fraternal and personal relationships and can be helpful in the realization of a journey of redemption by means of new encounters, realized and sustained by the joyful following of Jesus Christ, Saviour of the world. |
