Description
Résumé:The priest Antoni Szymański was one of the most outstanding representatives of the Catholic social thought in Poland. He emphasized that social Catholicism in the interwar period was an oppose economic system, based on individualistic economic and political liberalism. The social Catholicism in the interwar period aimed at improvement of the situation of workers through reforming the social system within the corporate system. The priest Antoni Szymański criticized the most influential ideological and intellectual trends of his time. He rejected postulates of the individualistic liberalism, and also postulated Marxist collectivism. Social Catholicism promoted the concept of personality and a humanistic social order, which was based on the social doctrine of the Church and could not be reconciled with the fascist and Leninist-Stalinist totalitarianism.
