The basic conception to which the author refers is Randall Collins’s theory of interactive ritual chains. This theory was used to the analysis of function and specifics of the individuals’ emotional experiences participating in the religious rituals. In this conception the collective emotions - including religious ones - which the people experience in the social interactions, result in creating, reproducing and depreciating of the cultural symbols. In conclusion Collins states that the collective emotional experiences, which are the constitutive element of interactive rituals, determine and initiate the mechanism of cultural changes. In this perspective the social and religious emotions are basic determinants of the cultural processes. | ||
