AB The figure of Satan in the Hebrew text of Job has been the subject of different interpretations. Some of these testimonies are found in writings such as the Septuagint version of the Book of Job and the Testament of Job. The theme of suffering in relation to the righteous person and the figure of Satan - or the devil - also has different understandings. In the aforementioned writings there are several points in common in this regard, but there are also great divergences. These literary works provide us with perspectives and methodologies of reflection based on the rewriting and reinterpretation of earlier stories and sacred texts. This article presents the richness of the Testament of Job’s interpretation of the figure of Satan. It also establishes its dependence on the Septuagint of the Book of Job version.
AB La figura de Satanás en el texto hebreo de Job ha sido objeto de diferentes interpretaciones. Algunos de esos testimonios los constituyen escritos como la versión Septuaginta del Libro de Job y el Testamento de Job. El tema del sufrimiento con relación a la persona justa y a la figura de Satanás -o el diablo- tiene también diversas comprensiones. En los escritos mencionados existen varios puntos en común al respecto, pero también hay grandes divergencias. Estas obras literarias nos aportan perspectivas y metodologías de reflexión basadas en la reescritura y reinterpretación de historias y textos sagrados anteriores. En este artículo se presenta la riqueza de la interpretación que hace el Testamento de Job de la figura de Satanás. Además, establece la dependencia que tiene de la versión de la Septuaginta del Libro de Job.
