However, despite herimmense human and mineral resources, Nigeria continues to be classified as adevelopingstate and this could mainly beattributed to the fact that Nigeria is yet to find a dequate solutions to the problem of human resource development with attendant negative implications for herd evelopment. Itisthepositionofthisstudythatifleadershipcompetence,learning goalorientation and formal mentoring are adopted as guidingprinciplesinboththepublicandprivatesectorsintheNigerianstate,the problem of humanresourcedevelopment will be adequately addressed and thatsustainabledevelopment,whichhaseludedNigeriasinceherindependence,willbecomeadefinitereality.Thestudyadoptedaqualitativeresearchapproach,throughtheuseofsecondarydata,toshowthatleadershipcompetence,learning goal orientation and formal mentoring are needed panacea to the problem of humanresourcedevelopment in Nigeria. | ||
