| Summary: | Inrecenttime,itseemsthattheobjectiveofinstitutingmarriageisfadingawayinsomefamiliesinthesocietyincludingtheChristianhome.Someseemarriageasathingthatcanbedissolvedatwillwithoutanyreason,forgettingtheimplicationitmaycauseonthecoupleandthechildreninparticular.Thereisnodoubtthatissuesthatrevolverounddivorcehascausedalotofdamagestomanyfamiliesandhaveaffectedthelifeofchildrenwhoarevictimsintheareasofeducation,social,emotionalandpsychologicalthinking.ItisonthisnotethatthisworkexaminedtheconceptofdivorceanditsimplicationsontheeducationaldevelopmentofchildreninOyowestLocalGovernmentAreaofOyostate.Toachievetheobjectivesofthiswork,primaryandsecondarysourcesofgatheringdatawereusedtocollectinformation.Questionnairewereusedtoelicitresponsefromtherespondentsundertheprimarysource,thedatacollectedwereanalysedwithsimplepercentage.Underthesecondarysource,Books,journalsandInternetmaterialswereconsulted.ThefindingofthisworkshowedthatGodinstitutedmarriageandsomeoftheobjectivesofinstitutingmarriageaslaidbydownbyGodisfadingaway.Insomefamilies,divorcehasledtoseparationwithinfamiliesandhasaffectedtheeducationaldevelopmentofchildren.Theworkthereforerecommendedthat,churchshouldbalanceitscounselingprogramontheneedtobeawareofthedangersinherentindivorce,thatChristiansshouldimbibetheteachingofChristondivorce.Finally,tolerance,adjustmentandenduranceshould be the watch words and qualities of couples. |
