Summary: | The oracle tickets, in Demotic, Greek and Coptic, represent the point of arrival of a long tradition which dates back at least to the New Kingdom. They belong to the modest context of the villages and refer to problems of a personal nature. For all these reasons they are extremely important because they reveal a world otherwise unknown. This is the case of an oracle question found in Bakchias, which seems to prove the existence of a place of worship dedicated to the Dioscures, although it is very likely that in fact this name hides the two crocodiles gods patrons of the kome.
