By its direct influence on the development of "European humanity," the edict of Milan can not be compared to any historical event, either before or after. In ancient Europe there was not a single world outlook, and therefore there could not be an event that marks the beginning of antiquity precisely as a world outlook. At the first glance, modernist Europe possessed a general secular world outlook, but it was, in one way or another, associated with the former Christian foundation and had no axial event, extending its generations for several centuries of new peace treaties and revolutions. In Christian Europe, such an event is exactly the Milan Edict of 313, whose name is forgotten the last of all the events associated with the Christianization of the Roman Empire. | ||

По своему непосредственному влиянию на развитие «европейского человечества» Миланский эдикт невозможно сравнить ни с одним историческим событием ни до, ни после него. У античной Европы не было единого мировоззрения, а поэтому не могло быть события, отмечающего начало античности именно как мировоззренческой эпохи. Европа модерна, на первый взгляд, обладала общим секулярным мировоззрением, но оно так или иначе всегда было сопряжено с прежним христианским фундаментом и не имело своего осевого события, растянув свои роды на несколько веков новых мирных договоров и революций. У христианской Европы такое событие - именно Миланский эдикт 313 года, название которого забывают последним из всех событий, связанных с христианизацией Римской империи. | ||
