The situation with education here was not the best, but on the contrary - she was in an abandoned state. At that time the church was engaged in school, and therefore the focus was on religious education. The first schools in the country were founded at the Putna monastery and in the region of Suceava and Radovtsy. If the boyars wanted to give their sons a higher education, they were forced to send them to Ukrainian schools in Lviv or Kiev, and whether in the capital of Western European countries - Vienna or Paris. It follows that the majority of the population, which remained outside the spiritual state or origin not from the boyars, remained illiterate, but in decades and was completely ignorant. This situation with education in the region was until the annexation of Bukovina by the Austrian Empire in 1774. | ||
| 520 | |a Розглядаючи період діяльності фонду, а саме кінець XVIII - початок XX ст., варто звернути увагу, в якому стані знаходилась освіта Буковини до створення фонду, зокрема в доавстрійський період. Ситуація з освітою тут була не з найкращих, а навпаки - вона знаходилася у занедбаному стані. Шкільництвом у той час займалася церква, а тому акцентувалася більше увагу саме на релігійну освіту. Перші школи в Краю були засновані при монастирі Путна та в регіоні Сучави і Радівців. Якщо ж бояри хотіли дати своїм синам вищу освіту, то змушені були їх відправляти до українських шкіл у Львів або Київ, а чи ж у столиці західно-європейських країн - Відень або Париж. Звідси випливає, що більшість населення, яка залишалася поза духовним станом або родом не з бояр залишалася малограмотною, а по декуди і зовсім була неосвіченою. Така ситуація з освітою в Краю була до анексії Буковини Австрійською імперією у 1774 р. | ||
