Er beleuchtet, wie das neue Einwanderungsprofil des Landes, der Widerwille, dieses anzuerkennen, und der lokale Nationalismus das Verhältnis zu den Flüchtlingen prägen. Der Artikel rekonstruiert die Geschichte der (Nicht-)Aufnahme von Flüchtlingen durch Polen während der europäischen Migrationskrise von 2015, der humanitären und rechtlichen Krise der an der polnisch-weißrussischen Grenze gestrandeten Flüchtlinge und der Evakuierung von Afghan*innen vor den Taliban bei der Eroberung Kabuls. Er zeigt, wie die Aufnahme einer großen Zahl ukrainischer Flüchtlinge nicht im Widerspruch zu dieser jüngsten Geschichte migrationsbezogener Ereignisse in Polen steht, sondern vielmehr die bestehenden Hierarchien der von polnischen Behörden und der Gesellschaft angebotenen Hilfe bestätigt und verfestigt. Er zeigt auch, dass es trotz erheblicher rassistischer Vorurteile und ethnischer sowie geschlechtsspezifischer Überlegenheitsüberzeugungen eine gesellschaftliche Energie gibt, die bereit ist, sich gegen Ungerechtigkeiten bei der Behandlung von Migrant*innen zu wehren. | ||

Il montre comment la relation aux réfugiés est façonnée par le nouveau visage de l’immigration du pays, la réticence à le reconnaître et le nationalisme local. En reconstruisant l’histoire de l’accueil (ou du non-accueil) des réfugiés par la Pologne, lors de la crise migratoire européenne de 2015, lors de la crise humanitaire et juridique des réfugiés bloqués à la frontière entre la Pologne et la Biélorussie, et lors de l’évacuation des Afghans après la prise de Kaboul par les Talibans, il fait valoir que l’accueil d’un grand nombre de réfugiés ukrainiens n’est pas en contradiction avec l’histoire récente des événements liés à la migration en Pologne, mais confirme et fige les hiérarchies qui existent dans l’assistance offerte par les fonctionnaires et la société de ce pays. Il montre également qu’en dépit de préjugés raciaux importants et d’un exceptionnalisme ethnique et genré, il existe, dans la société, une énergie prête à résister à l’injustice dans le traitement des migrants. | ||
| 520 | |a This paper draws on an extensive review of literature to contextualize the recent reception of Ukrainian war refugees in Poland. It illuminates how the country’s new immigration profile, the reluctance to acknowledge it, and local nationalism shape the relationship to refugees. In reconstructing the history of (not) receiving refugees by Poland, through the 2015 European migration crisis, the humanitarian and legal crisis of refugees stranded on the Polish-Belarusian border and the evacuation of Afghans from the Taliban when they seized Kabul, the article demonstrates how receiving great numbers of Ukrainian refugees does not contradict the recent history of migration related events in Poland, but rather confirms and sets in stone the existing hierarchies of assistance offered by Polish officials and society. It also shows that, despite substantial racial prejudice, ethnic and gender exceptionalism, there is a societal energy ready to resist injustice in the treatment of migrants. | ||
