Alimentées par les décisions et la méthodologie de Vatican II, ces assemblées ecclésiastiques ont été conçues dès le départ (en l’occurrence en Autriche) comme des lieux d’une participation sensiblement élargie pour tous les catholiques. La plupart des évêques autrichiens ont ainsi ouvert des espaces théoriques de discours qui ont été immédiatement et largement (au niveau à la fois quantitatif et qualitatif) utilisés et mis en forme par un grand nombre de catholiques engagés. Les thèmes et les contenus que l’Église catholique identifiait comme importants dans le monde environnant et qui la touchaient au plus haut point ont rencontré des méthodologies (telles que les procédures d’élection et de décision démocratiques, la participation sans restriction, la transparence élargie) qui devaient être (ré)apprises par l’Église. Après de nombreux siècles, les femmes n’ont plus été explicitement exclues, car en raison du désir d’une participation accrue des laïques à ces processus, il n’était plus possible de soutenir qu’elles pouvaient l’être. | ||
| 520 | |a In the ten years from 1965 to 1975, there was an enormous growth of diocesan synods in Austria, as in many other countries of the world. Fuelled by the decisions and methodology of Vatican II, these church assemblies were conceived from the beginning (in this case in Austria) as places of significantly expanded participation for all Catholics. Most of the Austrian bishops thus conceptually opened up spaces of discourse that were immediately and intensively (both quantitatively and qualitatively) used and shaped by a large number of committed Catholics. Themes and contents that the Catholic Church identified as important in the surrounding world and that affected it to the highest degree met with methodologies (such as democratic election and decision-making procedures, unrestricted participation, expanded transparency) that had to be (re)learned by the Church. After many centuries, women were no longer explicitly excluded, because it was no longer possible to argue that they could be banned because of the desire for the intensified participation of lay people in such processes. | ||

Befeuert durch Beschlüsse und Methodik des II. Vaticanums wurden diese Kirchenversammlungen von Beginn an (im vorliegenden Fall in Österreich) als Orte deutlich ausgeweiteter Partizipation für alle Katholik*innen konzipiert. Die meisten der österreichischen Bischöfe öffneten so konzeptionell Diskursräume, die unverzüglich und intensiv (sowohl quantitativ als auch qualitativ) von einer Vielzahl engagierter Katholik*innen genutzt und geformt wurden. Themen und Inhalte, die die Katholische Kirche aus der sie umgebenden Welt heraus als wichtig eruierte und die sie im Höchstmaß affizierten, trafen sich mit Methodiken (wie z.B. demokratische Wahl- und Entscheidungsfindungsverfahren, umfassende Partizipation, erweiterte Transparenz), die es für die Kirche ebenfalls (wieder) zu erlernen galt. Dabei waren seit vielen Jahrhunderten Frauen explizit nicht mehr ausgeschlossen, denn deren etwaige Bannung wäre, im Sinne der gewünschten und intensivierten Beteiligung von Lai*innen an derartigen Prozessen, nicht argumentierbar. | ||
