À partir du XIVe siècle, le pouvoir hittite contrôlait l’Aštata, dont Emar était l’une des villes les plus importantes. Les diverses tablettes cunéiformes d’Emar constituent une source très précieuse d’informations concernant l’organisation de l’administration hittite en Syrie mais aussi des informations sur les activités rituelles et l’organisation des cultes à Emar. Grâce aux textes rituels d’Emar, on voit notamment que le culte des pierres dressées (sikkānu) revêt une certaine importance. De plus, une porte était spécifiquement nommée «Porte des sikkānu» dans le texte rituel de la fête de Zukrum (Emar 373/375) et du kissu (Emar 388). Diverses activités rituelles avaient lieu à cette porte (i-na KA2). Daniel Arnaud traduisait i-na KA2 si-ka-na-ti par «tout près des bétyles». S’agit-il d'une phrase prépositionnelle? Cet emplacement reste imprécis et différentes interprétations ont été données pour identifier ce lieu. Faut-il y voir une véritable porte, un sanctuaire ou une métaphore? | ||
