| Σύνοψη: | Die Antisemitismusdefinition der International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), die 2016 verabschiedet wurde, wird in Europa und darüber hinaus von zahlreichen internationalen Institutionen, Staaten, und von einer wachsenden Anzahl zivilgesellschaftlicher Institutionen als Arbeitsdefinition angenommen und genützt. Gleichzeitig erfährt diese Definition aber Kritik und teilweise heftigen Widerstand. Der Beitrag beschreibt das Entstehen der Definition, benennt die Unterschiede zu anderen Antisemitismusdefinitionen und erläutert die in den Spezifika der Definition begründeten positiven und negativen Reaktionen. Deutlich wird, dass und weshalb diese Auseinandersetzungen weit über Deutschland hinausreichen. Es sind nicht die Formen von religiösem oder rassistischem Antisemitismus, die dabei im Zentrum stehen, sondern der sogenannte neue Antisemitismus, der sich in Form von Kritik an Israel äußert. The definition of antisemitism of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), adopted in 2016, is accepted and used as a working definition by numerous international institutions, states, and by a growing number of civil society institutions in Europe and beyond. At the same time, however, this definition is met with criticism and sometimes fierce resistance. The paper describes the origins of the definition, identifies its differences to other definitions of antisemitism, and explains the positive and negative reactions based on the specifics of the definition. It becomes clear that and why these disputes reach far beyond Germany. It is not the forms of religious or racist antisemitism, that are at the centre, but the so-called new antisemitism, which expresses itself in the form of criticism of Israel. |
