However, the justified outrage over anti-Semitic attacks should not obscure everyday anti-Semitism and deficits in solidarity with Jews. This article examines the existence of anti-Semitic resentment in the Berlin population and its effects on the Jewish community using a triangulated approach of population surveys and activating interviews. The study reveals the presence of various forms of anti-Semitic resentment, which are both manifest and latent in Berlin. The differentiated anti-Semitism borne by various social groups has a massive impact on Jews in Berlin. On the one hand, through strong experiences of specialness and threat, on the other hand, through a lack of visibility and solidarity. Due to its pluralistic urban society, Berlin proves to be less open to anti-Semitism, but this does not mean that anti-Semitic resentment or exclusionary practices against Jews have disappeared. | ||

Dabei darf die berechtigte Empörung über antisemitische Anschläge nicht über Alltagsantisemitismus und Defizite in der Solidarität mit Jüd:innen hinwegtäuschen. Im Beitrag werden die Existenz von antisemitischen Ressentiments in der Berliner Bevölkerung und ihre Auswirkungen auf die jüdische Community mithilfe eines triangulativen Ansatzes aus Bevölkerungsbefragung und Aktivierender Befragung untersucht. Dabei zeigt sich eine Präsenz unterschiedlicher Formen antisemitischer Ressentiments, welche auch in Berlin sowohl manifest als auch latent existieren. Der durch unterschiedliche soziale Gruppen getragene differenzierte Antisemitismus wirkt sich dabei massiv auf Jüd:innen in Berlin aus. Zum einen durch starke Erfahrungen von Besonderung und Bedrohung, zum anderen durch ein Fehlen von Sichtbarkeit und Solidarität. Dabei erweist sich Berlin aufgrund seiner pluralen Stadtgesellschaft als weniger für Antisemitismus offen, was aber keineswegs ein Verschwinden antisemitischer Ressentiments oder von Exklusionspraxen gegenüber Jüd:innen bedeutet. | ||
