| Summary: | The essay focalizes on the discovery of a new manuscript of the Chronica XXIV generalium ordinis Minorum, a compilation work with unitary purposes known and frequently used in Franciscan studies. It is about the codex 622 of the Biblioteca Antoniana in Padua: a small-format miscellaneous manuscript of Polish origin datable between the end of the fifteenth and the beginning of the sixteenth century, which appears to have been unknown to the editors of the Chronica XXIV generalium. The essay gives an account of the relations of this to the other manuscripts of the Chronica, highlighting its links with the four codices of the "northern" tradition, which display their own characteristics and peculiarities, bringing new of knowledge to the history of this important text. |
