Four questions will be asked. First, what is the musical style of the hymns and songs that were used in each period? Second, to what extent does the language of the hymns reflect the time in which they were used? Third, to what extent would the language in the hymns have included all members of the congregation? Last, to what extent does the language in the hymns to describe God and Jesus reflect the status of women in modern society?
