總結:The article investigates the relation of design and religion, as well as their joint potential in answering current emergencies in society. The author, in line with his research of contemporary sacred art and design from the viewpoint and using the toolkit of Design Culture studies, is searching for answers to what design can learn from religion—and what religion can learn from design. Theories of sacred design to sacred service design suggest a wide range of approaches, and there are learnings from design practice, as well as from education. The article suggests that design culture and its academic studies, as a mobilizer, and the sacred, as a bridging solution, show analogies, and can thus cooperate in providing relevant and effective solutions. Further learnings include the need of dialogue, the reciprocal need of the two fields, and the inevitable role of education. In support of the arguments, the author uses current examples, as well as cases from his own research and educational activities.
