| 520 | |a The aim of the article is to show the significance, meaning and need for a new type of thinking about the Church which has been described as a "pretextual ecclesiology." This kind of ecclesiology belongs to the "bottom-up" theology and is an attempt to respond to the existential and religious aspirations of modern humans who live in a culture characterized by two basic phenomena: global "logorea" and universal "nomadism." These phenomena co-determine the specific lifestyle of today’s people, who - in their existence - experience a painful combination of the excess of words and the pressure of hypermobility. Previous post-conciliar ecclesiology (ad extra) faced these phenomena by creating contextual ecclesiological studies which used to use the method of correlation derived from Paul Tillich. However, due to the acceleration of the changes in the social, cultural and religious contexts of human existence, the traditional proposals of contextual ecclesiology prove insufficient. The rapid pace of the changing contexts makes it practically impossible to conduct a thorough analysis. It follows that there is an urgent need for the methodical development of smaller and more operative ecclesiological forms. Therefore, emerging micro-ecclesiologies, based on abductive reasoning, appreciate the importance of existential pretext. Pretext is a spontaneous and unique opportunity to formulate a short, concise and prophetically provocative theological statement addressed to contemporary audiences that struggle with both the cultural obsession with mobility and the inflation of the written and spoken word. | ||
