RT Article T1 Pentecost and the pneumatological imagination: a methodological synthesis of the full gospel and the many tongues of Pentecost JF Journal of Pentecostal and charismatic Christianity VO 42 IS 2 SP 110 OP 124 A1 Davis, T. Ryan LA English PB Routledge, Taylor and Francis Group YR 2022 UL https://ixtheo.de/Record/1839858214 AB Building on the notion that Pentecost and pneumatology provide the trajectories for the two most dominant theological methodologies among Pentecostals, this article suggests that a synthesis focused on both Pentecost and pneumatology lays the foundation for a unique Pentecostal methodology to be articulated which explores how greater participation of all believers can take place in both the theological task as well as the communities where they live, work, and worship. As major proponents of the Pentecost and pneumatological approaches, the methodologies of Wolfgang Vondey and Amos Yong are engaged with the hope of constructing a methodological synthesis that is at once Spirit-driven and directed towards participation so that a wider range of Pentecostal and pneumatological resources can be utilized to imagine ways that people’s greater participation in community could be made possible. The methodological synthesis proposed in this article demonstrates how bringing together the two approaches leads to greater participation in Pentecost, which reflects the Pentecostal idea of the prophethood of all believers.
